Phil Kessel was drafted 5th overall by the Boston Bruins in the 2006 NHL entry draft. He won the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy for perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey in 2007 for successfully battling testicular cancer. Phil spent three seasons with the Bruins before being traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2009, in exchange for 3 future draft picks that turned out to be Tyler Seguin, Dougie Hamilton, and Jared Knight.
